The Ultimate Kjaer Weis Brand Review

Post Image

If you’re looking for a makeup brand that is cruelty free, uses natural, organic products and has recyclable and sustainable packaging, look no further: you’ve found Kjaer Weis. This label brand is named after Kirsten Kjaer Weis (pronounced kay-yar weese) and is a luxury makeup brand.

It’s a high-end brand for a reason! There’s a big difference between their foundation and a $25 foundation you might pick up at the drugstore. Kjaer Weis products heal your skin while you wear them. They contain healing ingredients like jojoba oil, coconut oil, and bamboo. Plus, they are all paraben-free, using only natural preservatives.

I honestly felt like a model when I first put on these products. I think it’s because they are so creamy and light that you know they won’t ruin your skin. My skin is especially sensitive and tends to redden or break out. I’ve noticed that using more organic, all-natural products are much gentler on my skin.

KW makeup is used by professionals – people who really know their makeup and won’t be fooled by a product pretending to be something that it isn’t. Luckily, the website includes tutorials, tips, and information about specific brushes that you should use, so it is easy to pick up. I’m no makeup connoisseur, but I definitely put in the effort when I know my skin will thank me later.

History And Background Of Kjaer Weis

Here’s a bit about the history and background of Kjaer Weis. Kirsten Weis grew up on a farm in Denmark, and after high school, she attended the Christian Chauveau School of Artistic Makeup. She then started working around the world as a makeup artist and has since worked for fashion magazines like Elle, Vogue and Marie Claire.

Kristen noticed that the models often had irritated skin from using synthetic makeup, but there wasn’t a magazine-worthy brand of organic makeup that she was happy using. So, she created Kjaer Weis, making sure that everything from the packaging to the colors is sustainable, organic, and chemical-free.

Kirsten also knows that there are so many labels that claim their products are “organic” or “all-natural”, but she notes that the standards of organic products in the US and Canada is less demanding than that of Europe. Therefore, she decided to create all of her makeup in Italy, which has an extremely strict standard for what is considered organic.

But that wasn’t enough for Kirsten. She also wanted to make sure that her cosmetics wouldn’t create waste, adding to the pollution of the planet. She worked with Marc Atlan, a creative director, and created sustainable packaging that is recyclable and reusable.

Kjaer Weis Products Overview

There are Kjaer Weis products for your face, lips, eyes, and skin. Something unique that this brand has is refills. This means that instead of buying a whole new compact, you can just replace the makeup that you’ve used up before. This is one easy way to reduce your carbon footprint on the planet; you’ll have one less thing to throw away. The makeup cartridge that is empty is recycled, so you really create no waste when replacing anything.

This brand sells at least twenty different kinds of makeup brushes made of synthetic material, but they feel just as soft and work just as well.

Unfortunately, all of the products I have reviewed below are out of stock! I usually love recommending products that I review, but to my dismay, you can’t get your hands on these products online! You can check with retailers near you; maybe you’ll have luck then. It is to Kirsten’s credit that these products are all so popular.

Foundation Review

The Kjaer Weis foundation is creamy and is easily applied using the foundation brush. Because it isn’t made from synthetic materials, it will look best after applying moisturizer. Doing so will help you achieve that natural glow we’re all after.

The foundation doesn’t give your face a dry feel. It contains jojoba seed oil, sweet almond seed oil, and coconut oil, which all work on locking in the moisture on your face. I should note that you have to apply several coats if you’re trying to cover up blemishes or redness, as this foundation is very thin.

A lot of my friends have trouble finding their shade when looking for foundations, especially with more exclusive brands that usually have fewer colors available. I never have this problem, thankfully, and I don’t think they will with KW, either. There are fourteen shades of cream foundation to choose from.

Cloud Nine Eye Shadow Review

Wow, I loved these eye shadows! There are twelve different colors, but only five are vegan: Cloud Nine, Earthy Calm, Green Depth, Magnetic, and Onyx. Great names, right?

Cloud nine eye shadow is pale pink, which works if you want a subtle, everyday look. It feels like cream, and it has three natural preservatives: bamboo, honeysuckle extract, and gardenia Florida fruit. I haven’t had an issue of this drying out, and it lasts for a whole year after opening.

Magnetic Eye Shadow Review

I got this Magnetic eye shadow for a warmer, bolder look when I’m out in the evening. You can also use this on your eyebrows if you have dirty blonde or brown hair, which I’ve never thought of doing with any other kind of eye shadow! It’s like an eye pencil, only smoother.

Romance Lip Tint Review

What is lip tint, you ask? It takes the bright hue from lipstick and the moisturizer from lip balm and mixes them together, giving you lip tint! The lip tint products aren’t vegan, as they all contain beeswax for a great, natural moisturizer. It’s suggested that you use a lip brush for this product, but you can also just use your fingers. The first coat goes on sheer, but you can keep applying if you prefer it more pigmented.

The Romance lip tint is a subtle and a pleasant pink, perfect for most skin tones and occasions.

Sensuous Plum Lip Tint Review

I wasn’t sure if I was going to buy the Sensuous Plum lip tint, as I don’t really have darker red shades. But my friend begged me to buy it and I’m glad I did. This is called neutral plum because it really is closer to red and I think anybody can look good in this. It’s the kind of staple color that’s found in almost every girl’s makeup drawer – fun, bold, and perfect for a night out.

Passionate Lip Tint Review

I had to get three lip tints because I couldn’t decide on my favorite. The Passionate lip tint is a reddish berry color that can work for a regular day or when you’re out with your friends. If you feel it’s too bold for every day, only apply one or two layers. This will give you a beautiful sheer coat – just enough to add some color to your lips, but not enough that you feel overdressed. For a night out, of course, you can apply more coats.

Cream Blush Review

There are way more shades of KW cream blush than you might think. I bought the “Blossoming” shade, as it is a subtle red, giving the skin a natural ‘flushed’ look. This has rosa rubiginosa seed oil, which helps smooth your skin and improves tissue regeneration. Who can say that about their blush? It’s marketed to be used on your lips and eyes, too, but I’ve found the color is too faint to really show anything. Feel free to try it out though, perhaps it will show up better on you.

Is Kjaer Weis Cruelty Free?

Kjaer Weis is a cruelty-free company.

Yes, Kjaer Weis is cruelty free. This means that no products or ingredients are tested on animals. These products aren’t sold in China, either, which has a law that all products must be tested on animals before being sold there. This caveat is present in many makeup products, so be sure to double-check if you think you’re using a cruelty-free product but it is sold in China. However, this brand isn’t vegan, as it uses beeswax as a moisturizer in many of its products.

Conclusion

This brand was so impressive that I couldn’t wait to share it with my friends. It’s pretty rare to find a makeup brand that is organic, works well, stays on throughout the day, and contains sustainable packaging. I think it’s brilliant the way the makeup is designed to lessen the amount of waste you create on this planet. The makeup itself is beyond amazing; it’s lightweight, it has tons of different hues and shades, and the ingredients are carefully studied to benefit your skin. I love that my foundation is helping me look flawless without stripping my skin of important oils and moisture. All in all, KW cosmetics are definitely worth buying!
