How to Bring Out Hazel Eyes

Post Image

Just one look from your eyes speaks louder than words- so what message are you trying to convey to the world? Our eyes are the gateway to our souls, which is why proper color and care are crucial for completing a perfect look. As hazel eyes contain a whirl of green, brown, and gold colors, they are naturally gorgeous and captivating. To bring out the full effect of each color, you can complement your hazel eyes with the proper eyeshadow to enhance the glow.

For all the lucky ones out there who were born with hazel eyes,  you are privy to a plethora of eyeshadow colors to choose from, as many colors work well with the natural green, brown, and gold specks.  Beyond your eyes, your hair and lip colors can compliment your hazel eyes to further the glowing look. Although they may not be part of your makeup beauty care, your accessories and jewelry have an effect on making your eye color pop as well. Give your eyes the care and love they deserve and treat them with only the best, natural oils so they can feel and look beautiful.  Let the twinkle in your eyes shine bright-naturally!

Eyeshadow

In general, colors that are opposite to green on the color wheel, such as red and orange tones, bring out the green in hazel eyes. But it doesn’t stop there. If you’ve got hazel eyes, you’re lucky, as you can pretty much use any color! Since your eyes also have brown in it, which is a combination of all the colors on the color wheel, almost all eyeshadow colors will look good. Having said that, there are certain colors that tend to really bring out hazel eyes.

Other than red, orange, and burgundy tones, which complement green, consider applying a green shadow to your eyelids to emphasize the green in your hazel eyes. A shade darker than your eyes could look lovely. Feel free to blend the green with other shades, like brown, beige, champagne, or add some gold glitter for a dramatic look. For a natural everyday makeup look or the no-makeup-makeup look, a soft beige or champagne eyeshadow usually bring out hazel eyes in an effortless way. Often the lighter eyeshadows direct the attention to your beautiful eye color.

Mascara

Black is probably the most popular color mascara around, but that doesn’t mean you can’t try a different color mascara. Mascara’s with gold flecks frame hazel eyes beautifully. Or, if you’re prepared to be bold and daring, try a red mascara, such as Christian Louboutin Les Yeux Noirs Lash Amplifying Lacquer in Rouge Louboutin, or a burgundy mascara, such as YSL The Shock Volumizing Colored Mascara in Rouge Burgundy.

These colors compliment the green in hazel eyes. Brown mascaras also look nice with hazel eyes for a natural makeup look. Lashes are one feature that you want to focus on to make your eyes stand out, so don’t be afraid to experiment with fun, vibrant tones on your lashes!

Eyeliner

Once upon a time, I religiously lined my eyelids with a thick black pencil daily. I’ve kissed goodbye to my faithful coal eyeliner some time ago in favor of softer, more natural eye makeup. These days, when I do choose to finish off my eyeshadow with some eyeliner, I apply black or brown eyeshadow using an angled brush. But you don’t have to stop at black or brown. Underlying your eyes with pink eyeliner (or eyeshadow using an angled brush) complements hazel eyes beautifully. Bronze, gold, emerald, and plum eyeliners also bring out hazel eyes.

Lips

Orange toned lipsticks complement the green tones in hazel eyes. Pink lipsticks look lovely as well, anywhere from dark and dusty pinks to nude lipsticks with pink undertones. Of course, if you want to go all out, bold, scarlet lips can suite any eye color, hazel eyes included.

Clothing And Accessories

‘Shadow, liner, mascara, lipsticks…nope!’ If that’s you shaking your head from side to side because makeup is not your thing, rest assured, there are other ways to bring out your beautiful eye color.

Wearing orange, plum, red, and burgundy clothing and accessories brings out the green in hazel eyes. Gold jewelry also tends to look good with hazel eyes, especially if you have olive skin. Wearing dark green clothing and accessories can accentuate the green in your eyes, and beige and brown can bring out the brown tones in your eyes.

Hair Color

Do you dye your hair already? If you do, consider trying a warm color (such as a rich brown, golden, red, or auburn shade) the next time you visit the salon. If you’re uncertain about committing to new hair color, you can always try a temporary dye that you apply at home, such as Color Butters from Joico, which provides temporary color without drying or damaging your hair.

Rest Up

There’s no better way to naturally bring out your beautiful eye color than to get enough sleep. When you are alert and well-rested, your eyes look bigger and brighter. Sleeping 7-9 hours a night combats tired, puffy eyes that can look smaller.

Conclusion

Eyes express emotion, they ‘are a window to the soul,’ as the saying goes. It’s no wonder that eyes are an important feature in your face. It’s always fun to experiment with new colors in clothing, accessories, and makeup, especially when they bring out your gorgeous eye color. These tips should also work for brown and green eyes. If you have other ways, that we haven’t mentioned here, to make your eye color stand out we’d love to hear in the comments section below!
