The Definitive Aveda Invati Exfoliating Shampoo Review

Thick, healthy and shiny hair. Isn’t that what most of us are dreaming about? Unfortunately, not everybody can boast naturally luxurious thick hair, and I am one of those people jealously wishing I could. Yes, there are many different hair textures for natural hair, but thick hair just somehow seems so much more desirable. I have had very fine hair ever since I was a kid, but it didn’t bother me very much until I faced another problem: hair loss.

My hair grows pretty fast, but there is just not a lot of it, and I really feel like I lack volume. I have been on the market for something that would help my problem for years. I’ve tried all kinds of infusions, masks, pepper shampoos and home remedies, but nothing seemed to be helping. Moreover, every time I went to my hair stylist I would ask her for new tips and products that I may have not heard about. The solution just didn’t seem to come my way.

The last time I went to hair salon was about three months ago and my hair went through drastic changes since then. My hair stylist told me about a new system she found out about, it was Aveda Invati. Unfortunately, it was not available at the salon, so I started researching online immediately after I came back home.Well, I ended up getting the whole series, but I would like to tell you about Aveda Invati Exfoliating Shampoo, which was the first product from this line I decided to try.

About Aveda Invati Exfoliating Shampoo

Woman with curly hair.

The product claims to volumize hair.

The product claims to be for thicker fuller hair, proven to reduce hair loss due to breakage, and is said to help you keep the hair that you have. It is right for you if your scalp accumulates oil or skin build up, becomes dry and tight while also turning weaker, breaks easily or loses shine.

I am one of those people who reads a lot about alleged sexy hair products before using them, especially taking the price of this shampoo into account. Yes, Aveda Invati Exfoliating Shampoo is on the pricey side, but after three months I can definitely say the result is worth the investment. The main ingredient of this shampoo is a patented mix of Ayurvedic herbs called DensiPlex, with the two main ingredients being turmeric and ginseng.

This blend is invigorating, with anti irritant properties and restorative abilities. Due to the active natural ingredients, Aveda Invati Exfoliating Shampoo helps to stimulate the scalp. The shine and strength come from the actions of organic essential oils for hair – rosemary, ylang-ylang, geranium, myrtle, lavender, thyme and nutmeg, which are also in the contents of this shampoo. DensiPlex reduces hair loss by 33%.

The main advantage of the Aveda brand is completely natural composition. Extracts of plants and flowers are often used as additives in cosmetics, but most of the times in very small doses. However,  once you try the shampoo by Aveda, it is unlikely that you will return to your usual products again. Rest assured: it will be love at first use. It will clean your pores, rehabilitate the scalp, strengthen existing hair and help the new hair to grow.

Application

Apply a dime size quantity of shampoo into wet hair and massage it into your scalp. The massaging part is very important in case of this product, because it needs to get into the scalp to achieve results. Massage for about three minutes and then rinse your hair thoroughly. Apply your usual conditioner or Aveda Invati conditioner, leave in for about 5 minutes and rinse off.

Of course, the number one purpose of any shampoo is to clean your hair, but the secret of Aveda Invati Exfoliating Shampoo is that it helps to clear clogs from your scalp, removes excess sebum and styling products allowing new hairs to grow freely.

Aroma

It has an earthy smell.

While most of the shampoos can boast some kind of pleasant or unusual smell, in this line Aveda did not pay that much attention to it. Smell is definitely not something that would attract you in this shampoo, it has kind of earthy and simply neutral. Aveda Invati doesn’t not leave any scent in your hair after you use it.

Texture

I expected the texture to be thicker. Compared to the products I have used before it does feel too liquid, which made me think that the bottle won’t last long. But after using it for the first time I realized I was wrong. A dime size amount is just enough to lather even long hair. Don’t forget that putting too much shampoo into your hair might cause it to dry. Every shampoo contains active cleansing ingredients.

What Does “Invati” Mean, Anyway?

In Sanskrit, Invati means “revive” or “confer life”. And this is indeed the truth. In my case I saw slight changes soon after the first usage. I had a developing dandruff problem, and after washing my hair with Aveda Invati Exfoliating shampoo, I noticed that the dandruff or dry scalp disappeared, which was very encouraging and definitely pleasant.

External factors and daily thermal and chemical treatment of our hair lead to its brittleness. Aveda Invati Exfoliating Shampoo actively cleanses the scalp around hair follicles, which is very important in means of new hair growth. And even though this shampoo was specially designed for women it will work for men as well, so guys, don’t hesitate to try it! The wintergreen salicylic acid cleanses and refreshes the scalp, but does it very softly, which is very important in case of weak thinning hair, and is also pleasant.

Aveda Invati Exfoliating Shampoo: My Experience And Results

Woman with healthy hair.

Growing long hair is more attainable now.

Taking into account that Aveda Invati Exfoliating Shampoo is an organic product, it was quite easy to achieve good foam, but try not to get it into your eyes. I was a little surprised by an unusual feeling after the first application: my scalp was “breathing” and I felt as if every cell of my scalp and hair was refreshed and revitalized. After using this shampoo for three months I can definitely say that I don’t lose so much of it anymore, I started washing it less frequently because the roots are not as greasy anymore.

And most importantly, the new hairs are starting to grow and that is exactly what I was looking for. I think the results of just three months are amazing considering I was looking for a solution for years without any success.

Honestly, I will not switch to any other shampoo. Weak hair requires careful and constant treatment and this is what Aveda Invati Exfoliating Shampoo is giving me and there is no way I will give the feeling of fuller hair for anything. Transform your locks, bring the strength and luster in! P.S. – for those of you who love to read and analyze the contents, here you go!
